Max is a handsome 17month old collie who came in to us as a failed sheepdog. Max is looking for a very special home!

Max is a friendly boy with the staff here at the centre but can be quite unsure of some of our volunteers and has occasionally nipped at their ankles.
Being a farm dog, he has not had much experience of life off the farm so is quite a nervous boy. Max is finding it very difficult to settle into life in a town with lots of new people and vehicles and so is really needing a country home away from these things. Although we are trying to desensitise him and it is quite a quiet area here, it is too much for him to respond to us and he doesn’t seem to be improving, he can lunge and bark at new people and dogs when out on a walk and he does car chase and isn’t keen on getting into vehicles. Although he came in from a farm as a failed sheepdog and so would not be suitable as a working farm dog, he would probably be best suited to life on a farm. When he is away from all these new things, he really is a lovely boy.
Max has shared a kennel with dogs before so could potentially live with another dog. Max will need a secure enclosed area where he can safely be let off lead.
Max is very friendly and playful when he gets to know you but anyone interested must have the time and patience to help him build in confidence in new situations in his own time.
