June 25th – The Big Borders Dog Walk
The Big Borders Dog Walk will be taking place again this year with a different route in the local area.

Everyone who signs up before the day will get a dog goody bag….

“Please arrive at the centre for 10.30 so we can leave at 11am sharp. Please make sure you are wearing appropriate footwear as it may be muddy and bumpy in places.
The long walk is approximately 5miles and will take around 2hrs.
The shorter walk will take approx 45mins.
Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and picked up after. We will be walking mainly on farm tracks and there will be some road work at the end of the longer walk.
There will be tea and cake for when you return and a goody bag for the dogs (for people who have signed up before the day)

July 7th – Scottish Borders Council’s family and dog fun day
Taking place from 11am-4pm at Wilton Lodge Park in Hawick we will have a stand at this event, the purpose of which is to educate and promote responsible dog ownership within the community and county.  There are a number of planned activities including a fun dog show, doggy dash, competitions, face-painting, a dog display team etc.
(Any money Scottish Borders Council raises from or during the event will be donated to local charities)

July 16th – A dog’s day out at Traquair
We will be at this great dog event again this year with our stand. It’s a fun day out for dogs and their owners. Bring your dog along for some fun activities, competitions, displays and demos as well as doggy treats and organised walks.

August 18th – The Jockuleles Gig
The Jockuleles will be performing at Earlston Rugby club raising funds for Borders Pet Rescue. Tickets are £5 with all the proceeds coming to Borders Pet Rescue. If you would like to buy any tickets please contact us on 01896 89090 or email us

September 17th – Borders Pet Rescue Family Fun Day
We are holding a family Fun Day and Fun Dog Show down at our exercise field just off the A68 on 17th September starting at 11am. There will be a variety of stalls from Cake & Candy to Crafts.
There will also be a Bouncy Castle and games. Why not come and try some Agility with your dog or enter in our fun dog show.
You will get a chance to see the dogs from the Rescue Centre and have a chat with the staff.
