Caring for your hamster

Hamsters are fairly short-lived so we don’t get many in rescue centres. Although they are very popular pets, they are nocturnal creatures so are most active during the evening and night and therefore probably not the ideal pets for children! They should be kept alone as they have a tendency to fight.

Our friends at Blue Cross have prepared an excellent leaflet to help you care for your hamster.
