Van Driver Wanted

Borders Pet Rescue is urgently looking for someone with some spare time to drive our van to
pick up some of our larger donations. This can be anything from boxes of bric-a-brac to larger
items of furniture. It is usually one day a week (normally a Saturday morning) and involves the use of the Centre van.

Turtle Tank Upgrade!

We have some Yellow Belly Sliders who came into our care as their owner was moving and didn’t have space for them in their new home. Under EU laws we are unable to rehome them and so we instead raised money though a crowdfunder appeal and bought them a nice large tank where they can spend their lives with us. Below you can see their original tank, and their new tank.

Many thanks to everyone who helped fund this new home for them!

The Big Borders Dog Walk – June 25th 2017

Come and join us on The Big Borders Dog Walk on Sunday 25th June at 11am. This year we will be walking out from the centre in Earlston with the option of two walks. The big walk will take around 2-3 hours and the shorter walk will take around 45mins.

If you would like more information then contact the centre on 01896 849090
or email info@borderspetrescue.org for your sponsor form.

If you can’t make it to our Big Borders Dog Walk why not sponsor the dogs currently in our care instead? mollie & alfie

All the dogs in our care will either be doing the big walk or the smaller walk depending on how fit they are.

We have set a target of £500 for our dogs and we would love to reach that before the day itself.

Co-op Local Community Fund

The latest round of Co-op Local Community Fund is now open, which means that Co-op members can choose to give 1% of what they spend on Co-op branded products and services to Borders Pet Rescue!

How the fund works

Every time Co-op members buy Co‑op branded products and services, from buying a loaf of bread to planning a funeral, 1% of their spend goes to a local cause, like us here at Borders Pet Rescue. For the 6 months we’re part of the fund the money builds up and we’ll receive the funding at the end of the 6 months.

How you can help

  • Become a Co‑op member
  • Choose Borders Pet Rescue as your cause by signing into your online account at www.coop.co.uk/membership
  • Buy co-op branded products and services and we’ll get 1% of what you spend

What we plan to do with the money we get

The money raised from this fund will be going towards dog agility equipment for our exercise area. We spend a lot of time giving the dogs in our care 1-to-1 training and attention, and agility is a great activity which we would love to do with our dogs for some extra bonding, training, exercise (for dogs and humans!) and of course for just having some fun!
