Borders Pet Rescue is a long-established animal welfare charity that cares for animals in need and finds them suitable loving new homes. We also work to encourage responsible pet ownership. Since becoming a registered charity 33 years ago we have re-homed thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and exotics throughout the Scottish Borders and beyond.
Our four charity shops in Galashiels, Duns, Hawick and Kelso, play a key part in helping to fund the day-to-day operating costs of the Rescue Centre at Earlston. They provide a focal point for the local communities they serve, helping to promote the charity and our vital work. The ambition is for our shops to generate more commercial income, including the development of our BPR online shop, to support future plans for our Rescue Centre.
The Area Retail Manager post is a newly created opportunity for an ambitious, entrepreneurial and experienced retail operator with the passion, drive and ability to lead and support our Charity Shop Managers, to develop the Border Pet Rescue shops, building on their success. You will oversee and support the operation of our four shops and have responsibility for maximising sales through each of the Shop Managers and their teams, and promoting high standards of operational effectiveness, presentation and customer service.
Location: Based in Earlston with some traveling to Duns, Kelso, Hawick and Galashiels. Claimable expenses.
Hours: 25-35 hours per week
Contract type: Part or full-time/ permanent
Salary: £18,000 – £23,000 pro rata
Required: Full UK driving license
Holidays: 28 days holiday per year including Bank Holidays pro rata
